In the late 1990’s Kathleen and her Irish chef husband lived with their two toddlers in a small fishing village in remote West Cork, Ireland, where they opened a fine dining restaurant. Pipes burst, napkins caught fire, and storms blew in off the Atlantic knocking out the electricity during service. But blackberries grew wild in their back yard, roses bloomed in winter, and although they were often short on sleep and money, they never went without good food or good company.
